SIMPLY THE BEST
The Tina Turner Story
Celebration of 80th birthday on great tour:
The success story of legendary rockstar Tina Turner
2019 is the year of extraordinary Tina Turner anniversaries: 35 years ago, her album “Private Dancer” was published, sold over 20 million times and awarded with four Grammies - the beginning of an unbelievable comeback and a worldwide career. Honouring the “Queen of Rock” on her 80th birthday, “Simply The Best - The Tina Turner Story” is on great tour in Germany, Austria, Italy and Scandinavia.
“Simply The Best” portrays the exciting life of the rock icone with impressive show acts and live music: From the beginning of her career, the hard times with her drug-related and violent husband, the breakdown of her big love and finally, after divorce, to Tina’s comeback and her fulminant rise-up in the 80ies up to the 90ies with her song for “James Bond 007 - Golden Eye”.
Anna Mae Bullock, born on 26th November 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee (U.S.), grew up in Nutbush, and became a world star and legend as Tina Turner, from 1958 together with her later husband Ike Turner. In 1984 she started a phenomenal comeback as solo artist, only comparable in this extent to the one of Elvis. In 2009 the singer with the unique acoustic color went on her last world tour. This tour was the brilliant termination of an extraordinary career: half a century of rock history with ups and downs, with rise and fall - and more than 180 million sold records, countless number 1 hits and chart placements like “Simply The Best”, “Private Dancer” or “We Don’t Need Another Hero”.
